Cheval de Frise Quartz - Namibia #2 Location_China It is unusually heavy forThis incredibly unusual specimen shows Quartz points growing at 45 degrees away from the central Feldspar column, however these specimens are varying stages of Epimorphs, as the central Feldspar has been dissolved away in varying degrees, some completely and is replaced with Quartz inside the hollow tube. We have given these specimens the name of Cheval de Frise after the wooden spiked horse barricades as their formation is very reminiscent of these.
